Celebrate the 4th with one of the country’s greatest all-American/Americana roots blues bands! The Nighthawks premiere their new disc 444 with special guest artist, DC’s fave blues guitarist Clarence Turner. Expect high-energy rockin’ DANCEABLE blues!

444 is a rich American stew of blues, soul, rock ‘n’ roll, and roadhouse country music. In one of the most dynamic live performances, the ‘Hawks play from 444, an organic mix of originals and classic cover tunes. Some are well known, like Muddy Waters’ Louisiana Blues, and some more obscure, like the Du Droppers’ Walk That Walk. Mark Wenner’s Honky Tonk Queen is an original that sounds as if it could have come from an old Rolling Stones’ session outtake. From there the disc ranges from early Elvis songs to a blue grass influenced number.

Gritty, soulful, Clarence “Bluesman” Turner, the darling of the DC blues scene shows off the fretwork that earned him the moniker The Caster Blaster. As Clarence puts it, “Why use a pick when you can use a cell phone?” He’s performed in DC’s prestigious Blue Alley to blues festivals in The Netherlands. Should be a rocking night.
