Tellabration! 2015

The Baltimore Folk Music Society and Irvine Nature Center join forces once again to present our annual storytelling event, Tellabration! This international event, under the auspices of The National Storytelling Network, started in 1988 and then moved over all the country and the world. This is the 20th year of Tellabration in Baltimore. There are two stages. One for adults, and older children that runs from 2:00-4:30, and another one for younger children from 2:30PM until 4:30PM. This year's theme is "Storytellers are an Odd Bunch". You will be treated to a great variey of stories, legends, myths, fok tales, and personal stories of every flavor from many different traditions. One of the highlights of the Children's Stage is the visit of animals with Irvine naturalist, Steve Mickletz. In addition to a cornucopia of stories, you can look forward the the yummy treats on sale courtesy of The National Federation of the Blind, and a wide displayof exciting, affordable, and interesting crafts for sale. Native American flute and other music add another special element to this event.
