Art Jewelry History + Technique: Art Nouveau

In this class, students will learn art and jewelry history with studio techniques from the Art Nouveau era. The works of Lalique, Liberty and Co., and Mackintosh among others will be covered. For the studio component, plique-a-jour enameling, carving acrylic, and forging wire will be demonstrated. Students will learn the design hallmarks, language, and materials of the time and how to design works that use the era as influence. Prerequisite: Intro to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.
