Hank Levy Legacy Big Band at An die Musik Live

HANK LEVY LEGACY BAND
Plays Music that Inspired an Award Winning Film

The Hank Levy Legacy Band plays the legendary big band music that inspired triple Academy Award winning film Whiplash. Uncover the musical treasure behind the Hollywood movie. The band has been earning praise for successful concerts in many cities and jazz lovers across the country have reawakened to Hank Levy's marvelous compositions.

Known for his love of odd time signatures, Baltimore saxophonist and composer Hank Levy (1927- 2001) composed tunes popularized by the Stan Kenton and Don Ellis orchestras, and his use of unusual time signatures actually predates the Brubeck band’s “Take Five.” He Levy was also a beloved jazz professor credited with starting jazz studies at what is now Towson University. The Legacy Band delivers an authentic interpretation of Hank Levy’s incredible music. Many band members studied and played with the jazz master himself!

Tickets: $15 in advance/$18 at door/$10 full-time students with ID
