Learn about the practice of mindfulness, tools for stress reduction, and how to create a mindful practice in your daily life. Come nurture yourself in the safety of a small, supportive group. You will learn to enhance your capacity for self -healing through breathing techniques, meditation, reflections, guided imagery, biofeedback, journaling, visualizations, and movement.

Activities:
Create original jewelry or a hanging ornament for your home or garden. You might assemble 5 pairs of earrings or start on a wire sculpture. Students are introduced to design elements, methods of capture and assemblage with wire, fiber, recycled and found materials as well as basic jewelry finishing techniques. Feel free to bring your box of unused and random treasures. Leave with the skills to continue working independently.The nature of Funky Junque encourages total freedom and personal vision. Each class is inspired by our connections to the energies of the universe.

Each Baker Info Session session will feature an hour-long presentation from GBCA Staff with a detailed program overviews and instructions on using the site. A past awardee will then offer insight and tips on presenting yourself as an artist and creating a strong portfolio.
With the highly anticipated nationwide midterm elections just around the corner, the University of Baltimore will host the authors of Road Map for Revolutionaries, a new guidebook featuring "practical tactics for navigating and protecting one's personal democracy in a gridlocked, heavily surveilled, and politically volatile country," on Tuesday, Oct. 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the third-floor gathering space in the Bogomolny Library, 1420 Maryland Ave. The event is free and open to the public; an online R.S.V.P. is requested.
