Highwire Improv makes a triumphant return to the Lou Costello Room, in the 2nd floor of Zissimos Bar in Hampden! Come join us for monthly laughs on the 3rd Saturday of every month with a rotating cast of the city's best improv ensembles, as well as frequent regional and national touring guests!

The bar is open all day, and the upstairs comedy room opens at 6:30pm for a 7pm showtime!

All In, Pitches! creates a thematic improvised musical montage accompanied by guitar based on a simple audience suggestion.

James Conlon continues his exploration of Recovered Voices with a rare performance of the Lyric Symphony by Alexander von Zemlinsky, a onetime star of Vienna’s music scene who fled Nazi Germany and died in obscurity in New York. Opera standouts Melody Moore and Lucas Meachem bring the huge emotions of this ambitious score to life. Conlon, who “conducts like a man with Beethoven encoded into his muscle memory” (The Washington Post), takes a romp through Beethoven’s jovial Second Symphony.

The Inscape Chamber Orchestra performs a program featuring Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Nonet along with vivacious works by Martinů and Britten. Each work is written for ensemble configurations that bridge the gap between chamber music and chamber orchestra. Coleridge-Taylor’s long forgotten Nonet was premiered in 1894 and showcases his influence and admiration for the works of Dvořák. Martinů’s Musique de Chambre No.
