Baltimore Choral Arts presents Little Match Girl.
This a cappella performance of the Baltimore Choral Arts Chamber Chorus recounts Hans Christian Andersen’s haunting short story of a poor child’s hopes and dreams. The Pulitzer Prize-winning composition will be matched with striking images created by MICA students. Visual and musical compositions are injected into the little match girl passion to create a multi-sensory mash-up!
Bach Four Chorales from St. Matthew Passion

Celebrate African American History Month with God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Sermons in Verse by Harlem Renaissance poet James Weldon Johnson. Directed by Kwame Kenyatta Bey, this lyrical revision of Biblical tales stars local pastors and is a revelation for the whole family about the foundations behind the African American church. Sunday performances begin at 4pm.

Set in ancient Britain, Cymbeline is among Shakespeare’s final triumphs. Masterfully blending comedy, tragedy, romance, and adventure—and featuring one of the early modern stage’s greatest female leads—Cymbeline (like its contemporary The Winter’s Tale) considers the implications of jealousy run wild, and the healing powers of pardon and forgiveness.
Enjoy a living history performance, film and talk about the NAACP and its leaders from the Jim Crow and Civil Rights era. See a living history performance of activist Juanita Jackson Mitchell, hear a lecture on the Baltimore branch by Professor Prudence Cumberbatch and conclude with a film screening of Mr. Civil Rights: Thurgood Marshall & The NAACP (57 min).
