Baltimore Choral Arts presents Little Match Girl.
This a cappella performance of the Baltimore Choral Arts Chamber Chorus recounts Hans Christian Andersen’s haunting short story of a poor child’s hopes and dreams. The Pulitzer Prize-winning composition will be matched with striking images created by MICA students. Visual and musical compositions are injected into the little match girl passion to create a multi-sensory mash-up!
Bach Four Chorales from St. Matthew Passion
With strains of jazz and pop songs, Aaron Copland’s Music for the Theatre opens this concert. Karen Johnson, the second of our concertmaster candidates, performs Mozart’s Violin Concerto no.5, the so-called Turkish concerto. And, we close with one of the most simple and beautiful gems in our repertoire.

Professional pianist and popular Germano’s performer Adam Swanson returns to the cabaret February 10th for a special show which will showcase music from his new recording project with Andrew Greene’s Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra. The album entitled “Jazzin’ the Blues Away” will feature original period orchestrations from the collection of legendary ragtime pianist Johnny Maddox. Expect to hear old favorites by John Philip Sousa, Scott Joplin, George Gershwin, and many more, as well as rarely heard gems from from this collection.
Join the artists of Baltimore Musicales for an hour of unforgettable, spirit-lifting tunes by Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Kurt Weill, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and more. Soprano Thea Tullman Moore, mezzo-soprano Elise Christina Jenkins, tenor Nigel Rowe, baritone José Sacin, and pianist Andrew Stewart will perform favorites from Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, and other classics from the Golden Age of Broadway. A wine reception will follow the performance. Seating is not reserved and tickets are available online and at the door.

For twenty years Cold Spring Jazz Quartet has been treating Baltimore-Washington audiences to their signature blend of current, classic and cool jazz. This evening’s music accents the classics, as CSJQ presents an array of beautiful songs associated with the films noir of the 1940s and ‘50s. This show explores the many shades of noir jazz, from bliss to blues, from rhapsodies to red wagons. CSJQ will introduce several new numbers in this show, so even if you’ve seen earlier versions, there’ll be plenty to enjoy!

A fund raiser cabaret featuring Lisa Dickinson, Soprano; Christine Thomas, Mezzo-soprano, Lance Bankerd, Baritone; Stephanie Godoy, piano joined by House of Bankerd Board and friends performing some stage and screen favorites. All proceeds benefit House of Bankerd, a Baltimore Arts Collective.
