North Avenue Knowledge Exchange Day 30+ FREE workshops
BALTIMORE, MD – Where can you find interactive classes, the opportunity to deepen community engagement, and vibrant artistry in one destination? These unique experiences and more can be found at the North Avenue Knowledge Exchange Day, April 21, 2018, 10:30am – 7pm. Attendees will encounter a rich mixture of more than 30 workshops in Visual & Performing Arts, Entrepreneurship & Professional Development, Health & Wellness, and Social Justice & Advocacy.
Join the Baltimore Jazz Alliance and The Royal Theater and Community Heritage Corporation in a celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, featuring Baltimore jazz artists Spice and the Audrey Haskins Quartet. This FREE concert will be held at The Avenue Bakery, 2229 Pennsylvania Ave in Baltimore, and will also feature food and drink, a raffle with great prizes, and BJA’s own Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, a chance for young children to learn about and experience the instruments of jazz.

Tareq Rantisi was born in Jerusalem, Palestine. In 2008, Tareq received the Al-Qattan Foundation Music Scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in the United States, receiving a degree in Percussion Performance and graduating with highest honors (2012). Tareq’s studies brought him into a deep dialogue with styles from jazz to Afro-Cuban to Carnatic Indian to Brazilian and more.

The McDaniel College Choir led by Margaret Boudreaux, director of choral activities at McDaniel, presents “Spirit: The 150th Anniversary Reunion of the McDaniel College Choir.” In celebration of the college’s 150th anniversary, featured guests include McDaniel College choir alumni. The Madrigal Singers, McDaniel’s premier a cappella vocal ensemble, also perform on several selections.
