The House Beautiful: Cast Iron Restoration of the U.S. Capitol Dome - CANCELED

Evergreen Museum & Library's annual spring lecture series, The House Beautiful, presents a trio of illustrated talks by notable experts and authors in the fields of architecture, artistic design, and decorative arts.
The 2018 series begins on Wednesday, March 21, with a talk by Robert A. Baird, a co-founder of Historical Arts & Casting, the firm that recently completed the restoration of the U.S. Capitol's dome and will soon undertake restoration of Evergreen's capitals. Baird will discuss the process of restoring the Capitol dome's 9 million pounds of cast iron after 159 years of service.
Talks are at 6:30 p.m. in the Bakst Theatre with a reception to follow in the Far East Room.
