Imagine hearing the famous rock tunes of REM, Nirvana and Pink Floyd transformed into contemporary classical masterpieces - this is the musical magic performed by Christopher O’Riley. O’Riley is recognized as one of the leading American pianists of his generation. Known for his eloquent and compelling musings on music and popular culture, as the host of the popular NPR music program, From the Top, O’Riley introduces nationwide audiences to the next generation of classical music stars. O'Riley will perform his interpretations of songs by Radiohead, Elliot Smith, and Baltimore's own Beach House. The second half will feature works by Rachmaninoff and Scriabin.
