Presented in partnership with @blackartistresearchspace , the program traces connections from the soulful rhythms of the 1950s to the experimental sounds of the 2000s, and how those innovations continue to shape sound today.

Sonicity is a two-day gathering that positions the archive as lived experience honoring how Black sonic traditions are held, documented, and remembered in real time. Rooted in legacies of Black knowledge exchange as creative gesture, form, and response, Sonicity moves beyond passive documentation and participation into something continuously felt and in motion.
