Master guitarist Sandro Albert is known for his improvisational brilliance rooted in the hypnotic beats of his native Brazil. Sandro Albert's love affair with music began on the streets of Porto Alegre, Brazil. At the age of 14, Sandro bought his first guitar from an ice cream vendor who played his instrument to the people walking by. Some of his earliest influences were Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, and Brazilian icons Milton Nascimento and Antonio Jobim. The Sandro Albert Quintet has performed at venues including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's, Catalina Bar & Grill, Yoshi's, the Blue Note, to name a few. Sandro has played and/or recorded with major Brazilian and American artists such as Milton Nascimento, Patti Austin, Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, Brenda Russell, Dionne Warwick, Rita Coolidge, Victor Bailey, Abraham Laboriel, Jimmy Haslip, Alphonso Johnson, Daryl Jones, Herb Alpert, Bill Charlap, and many others. In Brazil, Sandro found his magical sense of harmony and melody; in the United States, he defined his masterful improvisational style. Sandro has recently released his fourth album Vertical on Daywood Drive Records. This new project showcases Sandro's incredible talents as a composer as well as his solo skills.

Dubbed a 'pro' by Newport Jazz Festival founder George Wein, Jeanne Gies is recognized for her full-bodied, emotionally expressive voice and distinctive phrasing. A highly acclaimed international performer, Gies has toured in Scotland, France, Germany, England, and Austria, and presides over the popular Jazz Guitar and Vocal Workshop every April in Bolzano Italy. She has performed and recorded with a stunning array of jazz masters, including Howard Alden, Gerald Cannon, Willie Jones III, Romero Lubambo, Russell Malone, Jack Wilkins, and Eric Reed. A prolific songwriter, Gies recently traveled to Brazil to pen the lyrics and record the songs of composer Manu Lafer: watch for the release of this exciting recording this fall!
