Maryland Winds - America 250: Through the Eyes of John Williams
In 2026, we celebrate 250 years since the founding of our nation! In drafting the Declaration of Independence, our founding fathers risked everything to bring about the birth of a new nation. We now honor that legacy with music that exemplifies the American spirit through the music of legendary composer and conductor, John Williams. Hear iconic works like Liberty Fanfare, The Men of the Yorktown March (Midway), the flute & piccolo feature from The Patriot, and the epic American Journey, written for the 2000 Millennium celebrations.
We are thrilled to welcome guest vocalists Marina Beeson and Robert Petillo, who will perform America, the Dream Goes On before we close the program with Leonard Bernstein's stirring Make Our Garden Grow from Candide.
Also featured: Dwayne Milburn's three-movement Lexington Triptych, a powerful addition to this unforgettable celebration.
Celebrate our nation's music, history, and spirit with us!
