At VLP, we honor lifelong learning and understand the importance of starting early and making it fun. We hope you join us for our Tots Tuesday Storytime for toddlers & preschoolers! Tots Tuesday Storytime is an interactive storytime for children ages 2–4 years old and their parents/caregivers.

Do you need help completing the online YouthWorks application for a summer job? If so, come to the library for free tech help. The VLP Librarian will assist patrons with submitting the online YouthWorks application.
Appointments are recommended. Drop ins welcome, but may require a wait for patrons with scheduled appointments.

Make studio's upcoming exhibition and annual anniversary celebration, Lucky 13, opens with a reception on Saturday, February 25th at our Showroom Gallery. Every year that Make Studio exists, and our collective persists in their making, our anniversary is set aside as a time to highlight and proclaim our pride for each artists’ unique style and story. Make Studio’s “lucky 13th” year – having thrived for a “maker’s dozen” – promises to be especially exciting for our artists and audiences alike.
On the second day of Candy Lane, we invite you to join us for Family Fun Day. This inclusive day will include visits from Santa, rowhome gingerbread making brought to you by Baltimore Architecture Foundation and Lord Baltimore Hotel (registration required), complimentary hot cocoa, story time with Enoch Pratt Library, and all sorts of other crafts and activities for all ages.
We’re excited to announce the launch of the “Virtually Creative” after-school program.
The “Virtually Creative” after school program is an extension of our onsite programming that takes place at John Ruhrah Elementary/ Middle and Tench Tilghman Elementary/ Middle. In an effort to continue supporting our schools we are providing afterschool programming online. Each day, students receive homework help and hangout time to connect with friends. They will also have virtual Restorative Practice circles every Friday. Below is a detailed breakdown of the Virtually Creative schedule.

Three members of the African American Quilters of Baltimore, Sandra Smith, Rosalind Robinson, and Glenda Richardson, have created quilts to thank and honor all those who supported the Peale’s renovations and reopening this year. This exhibition presents more of their work at the Peale from December 3-January 8, 2023.

Lilia Torres joined Artesanas in 2014. She started teaching cooking classes at an after school program. Lilia says, "Sharing with people everything that is done fills me with joy and I love working with children." Lilia considers herself a hardworking, enterprising, humble and simple woman with a lot of desire to move forward.

Patricia Yolande Ciricillo – wife, mother, nurse, activist, and quilter. After leadership roles in nursing and social justice advocacy for children and against racism, she found her creative voice in the fabric arts and the stunning results have been shown regionally and nationally.
This unique exhibit will be available March 17 – April 23, 2022. Reception will be held on Sunday, March 20 at 3pm at the Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House – 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia, MD.

Our J buildings may be closed, but our J Team is hard at work creating virtual programming to help keep you and your family engaged and active during this challenging time for our community. Join us as we begin streaming virtual video experiences for group fitness classes, kids programming, a Shabbat community experience for our Early Learning Center families, wellness resources, and more.
