Rise with a Purpose is a 501c3 non-profit providing assistance to the homeless, social reform, community-based music projects & cultural exchange programs. Songwriter, Poet, Actor & BSO Artistic Partner, Wordsmith, will be opening up a new music school and moving his non profit into the historic Harlem Theater off North Gilmore Street between 2023-2024.

The Highlandtown Arts District is welcoming spring with 18 galleries and shops opening their doors for First Friday Art Walk! In addition to our 31+ artists and makers featured this month, you won't want to miss the soft opening of our new maker's space, Locality, an artisan boutique. Casa de la culura is launching their "Migrant Gallery" in collaboration with Casa Venezuela and with muscial performances starting at 6pm. We are definitely hearing the music this April.
BNHA 3rd Annual History Through Arts Competition
The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) invites Baltimore City youth to participate in our 3rd Annual History Through Arts Competition. The purpose of this contest is to engage City youth in an art exhibit showcasing their unique talents while also expressing their view of life in Baltimore City. The expectation is that the artwork will reflect Baltimore’s historic people, places, significant architecture or represent a historical event.

Three members of the African American Quilters of Baltimore, Sandra Smith, Rosalind Robinson, and Glenda Richardson, have created quilts to thank and honor all those who supported the Peale’s renovations and reopening this year. This exhibition presents more of their work at the Peale from December 3-January 8, 2023.
