Featuring 50 works from a dozen artists, Memento mori marks a significant transition in the life of 108 West North Avenue — a late 19th-century rowhome that from 1914 until recently served the community as a funeral home. The Victorian era building in its present state is a readymade work of art further enhanced with the artworks presented in the exhibition – gathered to acknowledge and celebrate the building's past, and its future.
Join us at Gallery 1448 for a festive holiday show featuring work by resident artists. A variety of fine art will be on display, including paintings, mixed media works, and photography. Affordable gifts, hand-made crafts and holiday cards will also be available for purchase.
Featured artists include Lauren Case, Bev Eisenberg, Joseph Germershausen, Betsy Heeney, Edna Kurtz Emmett, Laura Vernon Russell, Ron Russell, Valerie Potrzuski, Molly Roberts, Leslie Schwing and Sabrina Yelverton.

Baltimore’s favorite late-night art party is back celebrating the American Underground with a contemporary juke joint vibe inspired by the American Modernism installation and early-20th-century nightlife. Enjoy music by DJ Ty Alexander, speakeasy-themed cocktails and appetizers by H3irloom Food Group, and a Juke Joint Throwback performance. Explore your personal history through collage and art-making with multimedia artist Edgar Reyes and capture the moment in the monochrome photo booth.
Want to make a special gift this holiday season? Join us at the Baltimore Museum of Industry for a teddy bear workshop with BMI Educator and Local Baltimore artist, Jesse Lentzwiler.
Using a mix of hand stitching and machine work, participants will leave this workshop with a simple patterned new friend. Suitable for ages 10+.
$30/members/$35 non-members. Workshop includes supplies and museum admission. Free parking is available at the BMI.
