Creative Alliance seeks Great Halloween Lantern Parade Volunteers

The community that creates together is GREAT together! During the day a family festival in Patterson Park includes lantern building, kids costume contests, sugar skull making, live music and performers, craft vendors, hayrides, family activities, and more! Everyone is welcome to dress in costume and carry a lantern in the parade! The parade theme is organized under the direction of Artesanas Mexicanas who have provided the inspiration for our NEW floats, marching bands, stilt-walkers, dancers, and over 1500 community-made lanterns! 2016 tradition: Día de los Muertos

Parking Attendant: 3 shifts! 8am-noon, noon-4pm, & 4-8pm
We need volunteers to help out at the parking lot, directing cars and helping festival goers find the park. We're looking for 4 volunteers to be in the parking lot, in several shifts.

Festival Assistant: 2-5pm
Help with festival set-up, be available to assist with tasks as they arise, including stage set-up, lantern-making, and helping attendees navigate the festival. Check in with Volunteer Coordinator at the Info Tent.

Festival Assistant: 5-8pm
Help with festival tasks as they arise, including helping out in the lantern-making tent, clean-up, and clearing the parade route. Check in with volunteer coordinator at Info Tent.

Costume Contest Assistants: 3-5pm
Asking children to line up for a Halloween Costume Contest requires special talents, but it is not an impossible task! Creative Alliance seeks patient, outgoing, assertive individuals to help guide participants (children) to and from the stage for the costume contest. Costumes for assistants are optional. Please arrive promptly at 3pm . The contest check in table will be located in front of the stage.

Parade Float Carriers: Line up for parade at 6pm, parade finishes at 8pm
Carry a float in the Dia de los Muertos Parade! Get in the center of the action! We're looking for 30 volunteers who can carry up to 30 lbs for a mile to help carry some of our larger floats in the Parade. Be a part of the excitement! There will be a special orientation for these volunteers on October 20th from 6-8pm in the pool house of Patterson Park.

Clean Up Crew: Meet at info tent at 8pm for trash bags.
We need as many volunteers as possible to help us clean up after the festival is over
