BYA Seeking Digital Design Facilitator

Position is temporary, 2hrs/week for 10 weeks @ $20/hour.

Class may be extended based on youth feedback and program budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a 10 week class plan
  • Engage youth, ages 14-20 at the BYA Community Studio
  • Assist youth in developing collaborative and independent projects, such as: T-Shirt designs, poster designs, personal websites, logos
  • Operate each class with BYA's values in mind
  • Track participant attendance and submit to BYA staff
  • Assist in the documentation of student work
  • Attend bimonthly trainings with other BYA staff and instructors
  • These positions require instructors to maintain patience, flexibility, and a good sense of humor!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current creative practice related to job
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Well versed in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • 3+ years experience in Graphic Design for print and web
  • Prior experience teaching or working with teenagers/young adults (minimum of 6 months)
  • Patience and a sense of humor!

**All BYA staff, instructors and volunteers must be willing to have a criminal background check performed before engaging with youth.
