Creative Alliance seeks After School Instructor

Creative Alliance seeks a teacher to Co-Instructor for an after school art-based program entitled, Open Minds Art Club. Open Minds Art Club takes place on February 2- April 8, Mondays & Wednesdays from 2:30- 4:30pm for grades 2-4 at William Paca Elementary. Instructors must have knowledge in developing fine art projects for children as well as an interest in connecting these projects to reading activities. The pay is $22.50/hr. Teachers are paid for training, prep, class time and clean up. The responsibilities of the Open Minds Co-Instructor are listed below.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fingerprinting or recent records from Baltimore City Public School system
  2. Work with the Creative Alliance Education Department to develop curriculum
  3. Attend training meetings, field trip if included, final exhibition and all classes
  4. Visit site w/ teaching assistant & meet staff prior to beginning of session
  5. Order supplies, prepare lesson plans and teach class adhering to the plans
  6. Set up prior to class and clean up class area after class
  7. Keep attendance profiles, follow up with calls
  8. Maintain daily journals
  9. Share tasks with other Co-Instructor
  10. Monitor snack
  11. Assist Ed Dept with catalogue
  12. Install final exhibition and coordinate reception
  13. Return and re-organize art supplies and clean-up class area at end of program
  14. Work on program evaluation with Ed Dept
  15. Other duties as specified by Ed Dept
