Volunteer Usher for Chesapeake Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for Daytime School Matinees and Evenings

Volunteer Usher for Chesapeake Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet Educational Matinees
Weekday Mornings April 7 - May 12

We are thrilled to be offering our 90-minute matinee production of Romeo and Juliet to schoolchildren from public schools in the City and surrounding counties as well as local independent schools.

It's absolutely crucial for students to get to experience Shakespeare live and we couldn't be more thrilled with the response from schools and teachers. We expect to serve 5,000 students in one month of matinee performances.

If you have the flexibility in your schedule, please consider volunteering to usher at one or more of these performances to help support both CSC and bringing live Shakespeare to schoolkids.

  • Performances are at 10 a.m.--See the 90 minute production for free
  • Tuesdays-Fridays plus Monday, May 11
  • Please arrive by 8:45 (subject to revision)
  • Usher responsibilities are completed by noon
  • $9 parking in our partner Arrow Parking Garage
  • Help get students and chaperones seated
  • Monitor audience during performance
  • Help students leave theatre in orderly fashion

Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Sara Small to schedule one or more dates to usher for these incredibly important educational matinee performances.
