UMBC seeks a part-time Arts Publicity Coordinator

UMBC seeks a part-time Arts Publicity Coordinator who will take an active role in publicizing arts and cultural events for the university. Specific duties include maintenance of online communications to promote arts and cultural events; management of social media communications; facilitation of print and non-print creative projects, working with in-house designers; writing and editing copy; outreach to the media; and compilation and organization of event information. Position will work approximately 20 hours per week.

UMBC presents more than 100 events annually in the arts, humanities and social sciences, including performances, exhibitions, and lectures, with a calendar of events online at http://artscalendar.umbc.edu.

Salary commensurate with education and experience. This is a temporary contractual position funded by the UMBC Foundation and does not include health benefits. Initial contract is for a period of six months with possibility of renewal.

Requires a Bachelor's degree, with background in the visual or performing arts preferred. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills; will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively; will possess excellent organizational and time management skills. General computer literacy is required.
