Andrei Neimanis Memorial Fund for Musicians

GBCA is happy to announce The Andrei Neimanis Memorial Fund for Musicians. The Fund will make awards to exceptional artists in the field of music. This Fund is a commemoration and celebration of a man who was an artist in the truest sense of the word. Andrei loved creating music for the LOVE of music—non-corrupted, impulsive, and expressive. An exceptional lyricist, composer, and guitarist, Andrei loved writing songs, jamming, and the culture that music creates. Music was his passion and his best friend.

In addition to embracing a large variety of music – Jerry Garcia, Levon Helm, Placido Domingo, Greg Allman, Louis Armstrong, Richie Havens, and Frank Zappa – Andrei was invested in the careers of emerging musicians and collaborative music projects, and was highly supportive of young indie groups like his son’s band, Colour Sound.

It is in this spirit that The Andrei Neimanis Memorial Fund for Musicians is meant to provide meaningful support to individual musicians and music collaborations for the creation of projects that will have significant impact for the artists themselves and encourage the fertilization of the field.

“Long may you run,” Andrei. Long may you run.
