COMMUNITY CONCERTS AT SECOND ANNOUNCES 2018-2019 SEASON

Join us for our free opening concerts and a reception in September 2018!

BALTIMORE, MD (August 15, 2018)-- Community Concerts at Second is pleased to announce the opening of our 2018-2019 season! Our organization seeks to strengthen and enrich the Baltimore community by presenting free concerts that showcase the finest local, regional, and international artists. Our Sunday afternoon concerts feature a range of nationally and internationally renowned musicians, and our Sunday evening Chamber Music by Candlelight concerts feature members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a beautiful, candlelit setting. All concerts are FREE, with no tickets or reservations required.

We kick off the season with three exciting concerts in September 2018:

  • Benjamin Pasternack, piano (Sept. 16 at 3:30pm)
  • Chamber Music by Candlelight (Sept. 23 at 7:30pm); followed by a free post-concert reception, sponsored by the BSO
  • Morgan State University Choir (Sept. 30 at 3:30pm)

An outstanding array of artists are in store for the rest of the season, which features six additional phenomenal afternoon concerts, seven more candlelight concerts featuring BSO performers, and our treasured Wonderlic Concert, this year highlighting local rising star vocalists. We’re also hosting a special concert on Saturday, October 27th to honor the late David Simon, founder of the Baltimore School for the Arts and a cherished former board member and supporter of our series.

We invite you to get to know our performers and “CC@2nd family” at our various community events: such as our Community Night at Gertrude’s Restaurant at the BMA on October 4th, Sofi’s Crepes on April 30th, and two post-concert receptions that open and close the season.

All concerts take place at Second Presbyterian Church in the Guilford neighborhood in Baltimore. Please visit our website (www.CommunityConcertsAtSecond.org) for details and a season calendar of events.
