AMP Up! encourages Baltimore Creatives 16-24 years old to create origional songs and new works. The creative process begins with writing workshops led by mentors. Professionals in the field give feedback and pro tips on the creative and song writing process. Spring mentors include artist producer, songwriter, DJ Von Vargas, singer, songwriter Sahffi, and music producer and television sound engineer Winston Philip.
Hop in all day long with your scout or with your troop for a free scout craft. Make a Caterpillar SWAPS for your next campfire! (While supplies last)

Discover a lifelong hobby -- knitting!
Learn how to knit with Jayne! Total of two sessions.
We begin this technique course with the basics, such as how to hold the knitting needles and yarn, and progress you through all the basic stitches. This class is taught in the English-style of knitting (controlling the yarn with your right hand). Step-by-step, you will learn the skills needed to confidently knit any beginner-level pattern. You will be provided with some beginner patterns which you will be able to knit after the last session.
Working under the name the Women’s Coalition for Change, in April 1993, nine women enrolled in an art history course at the University of Maryland, College Park undertook an art action that jolted the campus and attracted passionate dialogue and national news coverage in outlets including The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Washington Times, USA Today, and Playboy.
Rise with a Purpose is a 501c3 non-profit providing assistance to the homeless, social reform, community-based music projects & cultural exchange programs. Songwriter, Poet, Actor & BSO Artistic Partner, Wordsmith, will be opening up a new music school and moving his non profit into the historic Harlem Theater off North Gilmore Street between 2023-2024.
In February 1904, Baltimore’s chief firefighter cabled Washington DC: “Desperate fire here. Must have help at once!” A tremendous fire was sweeping through downtown and showed little signs of stopping. Not until 5:00 p.m. the next day was the fire brought under control. Overall, it destroyed 1500 buildings, left 35,000 people unemployed, and damaged $150 million of property. Resilient Baltimore rebounded quickly, erecting new buildings, widening streets, and improving fire safety designs.

Maryland Art Place (MAP) is happy to continue KIDOOO, a youth version of Out of Order! KIDOOO was created as an opportunity for young artists to exhibit their work in a major arts venue, expanding MAP's services to students in elementary, middle, and high school level arts classes.
The opening of KIDOOO will take place in tandem with MAP's annual Out of Order event on April 21, 2022.
