GBCA is excited to announce a that MacArthur "Genius Grant" award-winner Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process training program is coming to Baltimore.

Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process (CRP) is a widely-recognized method that nurtures the development of artistic works-in-progress through a four-step, facilitated dialogue between artists, peers, and audiences. In use for over 20 years, CRP has been embraced by artmakers, educators, and administrators at theater companies, dance departments, orchestras, museums and more. It has deepened dialogue between artists and audiences; it has enhanced learning between teachers and students and by extension has proven valuable for all kinds of creative endeavors, work situations, and collaborative relationships within and beyond the arts, from kindergartens to corporations.

As part of GBCA’s professional development services and with support from the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund and the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, Ms. Lerman and John Borstel will personally conduct training sessions that will include a large group introduction to the practice, a small group intensive and the opportunity for up to four individual to themselves become trainers.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, October 29. Liz Lerman will lead a free, introductory session on Critical Response Process for 75 to 80 participants. You can find additional details and information about the program on the GBCA website.

We will be looking for you tomorrow evening at the Maryland Historical Society for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's Cultural Town Meeting. The event is produced by Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts in partnership with GBCA and will be moderated by John Schratwieser, Executive Director of Maryland Citizens for the Arts.

See you tomorrow!
