The Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA) and The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) are pleased to announce the second round of funding through the Maryland State Arts Council Mini-Grants. Grants of $500 have been made to support grassroots arts activities affected by or responding to the recent uprising in Baltimore City. The second round of MSAC Mini-Grants were made to:

901 Arts: to support the Summer Arts and Music Experience (SAME), a low-cost art and music summer camp serving youth in the Better Waverly community.

Believe in Music: to support a culminating music recital of Believe in Music program students at a free event in the Perkins Homes community.

Christina Delgado: to support Bridging the Gap, a pilot program art project that uses photography to share experiences and make connections between police, youth, and the community.

Gregory Hatza: to support A Night of Healing, a jazz and gospel music concert at St. Gregory the Great church on Gilmore Avenue, a historically African American Catholic Church serving the Sandtown-Winchester community.

Muse 360 Arts: to support Dancing Many Drums, arts-based youth development program that uses experiential learning, artistic expression, and travel to develop youth leadership skills.

Congratulations to these wonderful organizations and individuals. If you are interested in learning more, or in applying for the MSAC Mini-Grants you can visit the GBCA website. The program highlights the critical role of arts and culture in community building efforts and as tools for healing and was made possible by a generous grant from the Maryland State Arts Council and is administered by BOPA and GBCA.
