Executive Director Letter 11/23/21

Thank you! We at GBCA are grateful for you, our readers and supporters. This week, we hope you will enjoy Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day. GBCA is a leading nonprofit provider of services to artists and cultural organizations in the region. Whether they are emerging or established, mainstream or underground, grassroots or institutional, GBCA believes in unifying and strengthening all members of the creative community. Your donation to GBCA today or this #GivingTuesday will make our community a better and more vibrant place to live! All you need to do is click this link. And thank you for standing together with GBCA and all the artists and cultural organizations of Greater Baltimore!

This morning we received a gift I opened a contribution that was made in honor of the return to live events. What a terrific sentiment. Even though most of us are proceeding with an abundance of caution, the number of events and celebrations are soaring.

Looking for holiday cheer and the chance to shop local while supporting creatives? At the risk of leaving many out, here are some ideas for your weekend and beyond culled from GBCA’s Culture Fly events calendar:.

Station North Holiday Markets takes place this Saturday, November 27 in the Y Not Lot at the corner of North Avenue and Charles Street

Howard County Arts Council’s Maker-Mart and Juried Holiday Market starts December 2.

For some hot music, our friends at An Die Musik never disappoint. Check out their line-up for this weekend here.

Did you know that the Made in Baltimore shop has a new home that just opened up in Remington?

A short trip down to the Inner Harbor will transport you to the Christmas Village in Baltimore.

And congratulations to ArtCentric on its opening of Dream Girls at Baltimore Center Stage! The show continues through the weekend, so don’t miss it. The gowns alone will blow your mind!

It is impossible to list all of the amazing upcoming events, including those you can still see virtually. For a fuller idea of what’s waiting for you, visit CultureFly.org and make your choice from the many offerings of the region’s best in the arts and culture scene!

All my best,

Jeannie
