Executive Director Letter 3/15/22

The arts and culture sector is roaring into spring! If you are ready to get out in public again, there are a wealth of opportunities to see great art, great performances, attend events, and hear great music.

After a smashing launch with The 1619 Project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones in conversation with historian Martha Jones last Saturday, the CityLit Festival continues through the end of the month. This evening, there will be a virtual Master Class with Kiese Laymon: Keeping it in the House from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. For more information go to Master Class, and for the virtual Zoom meeting you can register here.

There is also much to be excited about at area museums. I can’t wait to see Majolica Madness at The Walters Art Museum, and the Joan Mitchell exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Healing and the Art of Compassion (or the Lack Thereof!) continues at the American Visionary Arts Museum through September 4 and it is always an incredible experience to visit the Great Blacks in Wax Museum.

There is so much to see and do! You can find out about performances, lectures, workshops, and more from around the region at culturefly.org. Be sure to check it out AND to post your own events and happenings to reach audiences from around the region.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Jeannie
