Maryland Opera Camp Dates: July 20 - August 9, 2026

Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2026

The Maryland Opera Summer Camp, in its second decade of identifying and nurturing young singers with an interest in voice and opera, continues in 2026. The camp is offered completely free of charge through the generosity of donors who wish to encourage young vocal talent.​

All sessions will be held from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday. Each camper will receive instruction in voice, drama, and opera/voice coaching in addition to master classes and sessions in dance, movement, and yoga. The camp will also feature "Create & Produce" in which campers will learn how an opera comes to life while creating their own compositions.

Additional activities the campers will participate in are a movie night on Friday, July 24 and evening performances at Boordy Vineyards on July 30 and August 7.

The camp will culminate with a performance of the opera the campers write in "Create & Produce" on Sunday, August 9.

Additionally, selected campers will be given an opportunity to sing at one of the Maryland Opera outdoor performances scheduled throughout the summer and fall at various locales throughout the state.

The Opera Camp is completely free of charge and open to Maryland High Schoolers in grades 9-12 and college students up to age 21. Potential campers will need to complete the application below and submit a video recording of their singing.
