The Hamilton Gallery is a cooperative gallery, artist operated, with exhibitions featuring the works of members as well as guest artist exhibitions. Hamilton Gallery exhibits and supports fine art and fine crafts. The gallery maintains an active membership of a number of local artists, and screens for new members throughout the year. We welcome artists with a developed body of work, and emerging artists seeking to foster their artistic practice and to begin their careers. Hamilton Gallery artist members enjoy the right to guide gallery policies and control their own exhibitions.
Hamilton Gallery is located at 5502 Harford Road in the Hamilton business district also home to Silver Queen, Bramble Bakery, and Emma’s Tea Spot.

Hamilton Gallery mission is twofold:
- To provide a space where artists can display, sell, and discuss their works of fine art & fine crafts; and
- To encourage artists and community members to learn from each other how to conceive, create, display, appreciate, and sell their works of fine art & fine crafts. Special attention will be given to youth interested in pursuing artistic endeavors.

Hamilton Gallery membership is available at two levels
BASE Exhibiting Artist Membership:
- Monthly membership dues $40
- 2-3 pieces of work exhibited on walls and 5-8 pieces included in bins for each exhibition.
- Sales of artwork: Gallery maintains a 20% commission, Artist receives 80%
- 4-8 hours gallery work per month required of each exhibiting artist during established open gallery hours
- Gallery member artists submit new work on scheduled drop off date for new exhibit installation. After 3 exhibitions work may be exhibited again.
PLUS Exhibiting Artist Membership:
- Monthly membership dues $50
- 2-3 pieces of work exhibited on walls and 5-8 pieces included in bins for each exhibition.
- Sales of artwork: Gallery maintains a 20% commission, Artist receives 80%
- 4-8 hours gallery work per month required of each exhibiting artist during established open gallery hours
- After paying the PLUS level of membership for 2 years the member is granted a solo exhibition in Gallery II (left side), and then every 2 years as membership continues. This is essentially a layaway plan for renting the larger side of gallery II.
- Gallery member artists submit new work on scheduled drop off date for new exhibit installation. After 3 exhibitions work may be exhibited again.
Gallery Artist Member Jurying Procedures
The jury is composed of the current Hamilton Gallery exhibiting artist members. A simple majority vote is required for acceptance.

Please include the following in your email application:
- Address your email to: [email protected]
with the subject: Membership Application.
- In the body of the email include the following information:
Your street address and phone number
What level of membership you are applying for (Base or Base Plus.
What month you wish to begin exhibiting
An image list for attached files: file name, title, media, dimensions, retail price.
Please let us know if this your most recent work, and does this work represent the direction you will probably continue to explore?
- Attach five images clearly depicting 5 pieces of your artwork.
At least two images must show your work framed or presented as you would for an exhibition.
Image files should be less than 1.5 MB each
To give yourself the best chance for a successful jurying, choose your pieces as if you were preparing for a solo exhibition. All of the work you submit, both original pieces and digital images should demonstrate a consistent and well developed style. Avoid submitting a non-cohesive body of work or work from different periods of your artistic development.
- A copy of your exhibition resume and/or other items you wish to include (e.g. a short artist’s statement, brochures, reviews…). *These items are optional.
Submit your $40 membership application fee via our webpage PayPal Donation button hamiltonarts.org (bottom right of the webpage).
The gallery’s membership coordinator will contact you after the jury process is complete (5-10 business days) to inform you of the jury’s decision. If you are voted into the gallery membership and a vacancy is available, you may become a gallery artist member on the first day of the the next exhibition. Information on how to complete business arrangements and get training on gallery’s operations will be included in the welcome email.
If a membership vacancy is not available, you may become a Gallery Artist Member Elect and your name will be added to a waiting list.
