ABOUT THIS CALL
American University is pleased to announce a Call for Entries for the 2016 College Art Association’s Annual Regional Exhibition. The exhibition, called RBTL, will coincide with the 104th Annual Conference and will be hosted at the Katzen Art Center, American University. The opening reception will take place on Friday, February 5, 6:00-9:00pm.
Artists must currently be enrolled in a MFA or MA program in DC, MD, VA, NJ or PA. This call is open to all media; original works of art must have been completed in the last 3 years to be eligible. Please contact us if you have questions regarding eligibility requirements.
All work must be installation ready and be delivered or shipped between January 18 – 23, 2016.
Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to and from exhibition.
Artwork must be deinstalled on March 7.

Applications are open to all media and must be original works of art completed during an MFA/MA program and within the last 3 years..
Entries will be accepted via email to [email protected]. All entries must include “CAA MFA Exhibition” in the subject line of the email.
Please submit 5 images of completed artworks. All files must be labeled with the artist’s LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_ENTRY NUMBER. Example: Thompson_Janna_1.jpg
Images should be submitted in JPEG format and no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction and 72 dpi. The resulting image will range from 700 Kb to 2 Mb.
JPEG submissions must still be submitted to represent the video, along with a link to the video. The video should be an excerpt totaling no longer than 3 minutes. All files must be labeled with the artist’s LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_ENTRY NUMBER. Example: Thompson_Janna_1.jpg
DELIVERY AND RETURN OF ARTWORK
All work must be installation ready and delivered or shipped by January 25, 2016. Any work not ready to install with appropriate equipment may be removed from the exhibition. Participating artists are responsible for delivering or shipping artwork to and from the exhibition, unless prior arrangements have been made. All work accepted must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Artwork must be deinstalled on March 7, 2016.

The Katzen Art Center Rotunda and Academic galleries are public and shared spaces. As such, the university does not maintain insurance on artworks exhibited in the Rotunda Gallery and Academic Gallery. It is understood that the risk of property damage or loss will be the responsibility of the exhibiting artist. Damage resulting from the failure of the work itself, its mounting systems installed or provided by the artist or any degradation due to the materials used or craftsmanship is the responsibility of the artist.
However, the utmost care will be taken to assure the safety of all work while in the Katzen Arts Center.
The artwork selected will be installed and deinstalled by the Katzen Art Center preparatory (unless other arrangements are made prior to the exhibition).
A reception for the artists will be held and the exhibition will be promoted.
The Katzen Art Center does not manage the sales of artwork. All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist.

Please do not send links to Google Drive, Dropbox, or the like. Only links to video files will be accepted. All JPEGs must be emailed as attachments only.
