An exhibition at the Chesapeake Gallery, Harford Community College
A CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Center for the Arts in Harford County, Maryland will soon provide a home for the Arts- accessible to all, to nurture art, artists, and the community by providing a broad range of creative and collaborative experiences. The Center for the Arts invites you to experience firsthand this land gifted to Harford County for the new Center and to submit original artwork that depicts your reaction to this place. Present:home is a collaboration exhibition between Harford Community College’s Chesapeake Gallery and the Center for the Arts.
SITE TOUR DATES: not mandatory for submission but strongly encouraged. Meet at the front parking lot of Emmorton Elementary School, 2502 S. Tollgate Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015, Sunday June 1, 2 p.m. Rain date June 8, 2 p.m. ELIGIBILITY: All mediums accepted. All work must be original to the artist.
HOW TO SUBMIT: Work must be submitted in both its original/physical form for the Gallery and a jpeg image file on CD for the web exhibition. All artwork must be labeled with name, contact information, title, medium, if you are willing to sell, and how your work connects to the theme. Digital images should be JPEGs only, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution), and a maximum of 3 MB. All submitted work must be ready to be hanged.
JURY: All entries will be displayed in the web exhibition, both on a screen in the gallery space and on the Chesapeake Gallery website. Physical work will be juried by the Chesapeake Gallery committee as space allows based on: originality and technical excellence, connection to the theme, perspective on the theme
HOW TO ENTER YOUR WORK: Drop off your work Monday, September 22, 8:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 23, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 a.m. at the Chesapeake Gallery at Student Center. Unaccepted physical work must be picked up Friday, September 26, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. All digital work will be in the online exhibition. Accepted work must remain in the gallery until the end of the exhibit.
SALES: A silent auction will be held during the night of the opening. If you choose to participate a 40% donation from the sale is suggested to benefit the Center for the Arts. Starting bids should be submitted along with the piece upon drop off.
