During the year classes are held at both the downtown and Towson campuses of JHU's Peabody Dance Programs.
This is the 6th season of this award winning program. The tuition-free classes and more (worth over $1,800+) are an opportunity for young men to train with finely experienced dance instructors, guest artists, see dance performances and have the opportunity to be in performances as well. This program is tailored-made for the making of future male dancers and is being made freely to those young men who are hungry to really know how to dance and make dance a part of their lives. The character building, positive and supportive environment is available for those who are passionate about dancing, have the aptitude and willing to make the commitment.
Also, during the celebration of Peabody Dance Program's 100th Anniversary celebration (2014-2015) there will be many exciting events, exhibits and community programs including an all male dance program that will feature some of the Estelle Dennis Peabody Dance (Tuition-Free) Boys Program.
The esteemed dancer, choreographer and guest teacher, Mr. Clay Taliaferro (former principal dancer with Jose Limon Dance Company and other major dance artists) is working presently with some selected young men with assistance from guest artist, Mr. Vincent Thomas, dancer/choreographer and instructor at Towson Dance Department. This workshop ("danceshop") is being sponsored by the Maryland Humanities Council as part of preparation of the boys community dance program to be inaugurated this season.
