AKIMBO Dance & Movement Art Festival: Call for Artists

Proposals accepted on rolling basis until Mar. 27th.

Presented by Deep Vision Dance Company, the 4th annual AKIMBO Festival is a site-specific dance and movement art festival in Station North Arts & Entertainment District, Baltimore City, MD. AKIMBO is looking for artists to dream big, to propose ideas never seen before at AKIMBO, and to question the definitions of dance and movement art. AKIMBO is encouraging interdisciplinary projects, proposals that take artistic risks, and ideas that focus on a strong artistic vision/voice from the company or artist. ● Dancers & Choreographers

● Theater Artists

● Performance / Movement Artists

● Musicians, Visual Artists, and Literary Artists

that collaborate with movers or have a movement focus to their work.

What we are looking for:

● MOVEMENT Based Projects

● Original and Innovative Work

● Projects with a strong artistic voice and vision

Free Liz Lerman Workshop: Site-Specific Art Making

Facilitated by Liz Lerman, a FREE workshop on site-specific art making and collaboration. Workshop prepares individuals for creating art for AKIMBO Dance Festival in Station North Arts & Entertainment District and enables artists to make connections for future collaborations.
