St. Tammany Art Association in Louisiana announces 50th National Juried Exhibition July 12-August 9, 2015. Deadline May 1, 2015.

Awarding up to $3,000 with $1,000 Best of Show. Show features opening and closing wine/hors d’oeuvres receptions with juror-artist art talk at closing.

Juror: Don Marshall, past president of STAA, is the Executive Director of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival since 2004, where he has launched the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, Congo Square Rhythms Festival, Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival and Louisiana Cajun Zydeco Festival. First director of New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center where he curated 30+ exhibitions and most recently curated NOLA NOW Part II. Former Director of Le Petite Theatre, where he founded the Tennessee Williams Festival and brought together local artists and community activists to form both the New Orleans Film Festival and the Krewe du Vieux. As an educator, served as the Director of the Cultural Resource Management Program at Southeastern Louisiana University and Director of the Arts Administration Program at the University of New Orleans.

Annual juried show is open to all artists 18+ in the United States. Original visual art completed within the last two years. Not admitted: reproductions of original artwork, film or large installations. $35 entry fee, up to 3 art works.
