Alienation…The state or experience of being isolated from a group or an activity to which one should belong or in which one should be involved…isolation, detachment, estrangement, distance, seperation, division, cutting off, turning away, loss or lack of sympathy, indifference or hostility. The concept of alienation is embedded in all of the great religions as well as social and political theories of the civilized period. The hope is that in the future alienation will be overcome so that humanity can achieve harmony with itself and nature.
