Guggenheim Foundation Fellowships, Division of Public Programs

DEADLINE: September 18, 2016 (several-step process)

John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowships are designed for mid-career scholars and artists. The Foundation awards around 200 fellowships each year (out of 3,500-4,000 applications). Grants are made for a minimum of six months and a maximum of 12 months, with no special conditions. Grant amounts vary (past awards averaged $36,000) and the Foundation considers applicants' other resources and the purpose and scope of their plans. Fellows may also be on sabbatical leave and may hold other fellowships and appointments at research centers.
