Join us Wednesday October 5th at 7pm for a Rubys Spotlight: Readings With 2015 Literary Arts Grantees

7pm / Free

@ The Ivy Bookshop (6080 Falls Rd, Baltimore, MD 21209)

This reading will feature the 2015 literary arts grantees, each of whom will read a selection from their award-winning projects:

James Arthur will read from Entanglement, a poetry collection that is diverse in style and subject matter, but broadly speaking, a manuscript about love.

Dale Beran will read from his graphic novel in progress about the Baltimore City school system and the lives of its students, which incorporates historical research, interviews, and illustrations.

Ericka Blount Danois will read from her screenplay, a science fiction story that explores the themes of generational gaps, cycles of repetition, and what martyrdom does to the individual, especially as it relates to historical figures.

Jen Grow will read from My Father’s House, a series of photographs with personal essay that explore ideas around loss of home, identity, and history.
