Out of Order Artist Info Workshop and Install Day

Maryland Art Place's Out of Order Artist Information Workshop - Saturday March 18th 1pm @ MAP with Amanda Burnham

Are you an artist looking to participate in MAP's 20th Annual Benefit Exhibition & Silent Auction, Out of Order?

This informational workshop is geared towards first-time participants of Out of Order. We will be discussing past Out of Order exhibitions, tips on pricing your work, what kind of art to submit to the exhibition, as well as tips for networking and connecting with patrons at the event. If you have questions about the show or the application process, bring them to this workshop!

By covering the walls from floor to ceiling, Out of Order provides an opportunity for artists to hang their work in a salon-style exhibition. OOO is a unique way to get involved with Baltimore’s growing art scene while supporting one of Baltimore’s most established contemporary arts organizations. Proceeds from art sales are split equally between MAP and the artist. Revenue generated at Out of Order directly supports MAP’s programs, exhibitions and opportunities; furthering MAP’s mission to support emerging and mid-career artists and professionals throughout the year. Any artist is welcome to hang one original work of art on the first come, first served installation day, taking place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 7am - midnight.

OOO Artist Information Workshop will take place Saturday, March 18 at 1pm at Maryland Art Place. Guest speaker for the workshop is Amanda Burnham, member of MAP's Program Advisory Committee and internationally exhibiting artist.

Burnham's work has been exhibited widely; selected venues include the Volta Art Fair (Basel, Switzerland), the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, the Toledo Museum of Art, Artisphere, the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art, the Cranbrook Institute of Art, Benrimon Contemporary (NYC), Bridge Gallery (NYC), Christina Ray Gallery (NYC), Dorsch Gallery (Miami) and GV/AS Gallery (Brooklyn, NY). Local venues include the Creative Alliance, School 33, Maryland Art Place, Hamiltonian Gallery (DC), and Transformer (DC), among others. She has been the recipient of a Rubys Grant (2014), a Creative Baltimore Fund Award (2014), Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council in 2010 and 2013, and has been named a Sondheim Prize semifinalist in 2012, 2013, and 2014. A graduate of Harvard University (BA) and Yale University (MFA), Burnham is now an Associate Professor at Towson University.
