The Only Constant Is Change

GBCA is saying a bittersweet farewell to our staff members Lauren Saunders and Carlyn Thomas. Both have made invaluable contributions to GBCA as we have grown and developed over the past four years. Carlyn is leaving to focus efforts on her acclaimed Terrault Galleryand to pursue other opportunities and projects. She has played a key role in theBaker Artist Portfolios, Culture Fly, GBCA’s presence at Artscape, and managing relationships with GBCA’s Board of Directors and many friends.

Lauren is moving to Pittsburgh to pursue a MA in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Lauren has had several roles at GBCA, most recently supporting the Urban Arts Leadership Program and managing finances.

Carlyn and Lauren will always be part of the GBCA family and we wish them great success. At the same time, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join me in welcoming Kylee Johnson to GBCA as our new Bookkeeper/Office Manager. Kylee recently completed her MS in Human Services Administration at University of Baltimore and has experience in nonprofit bookkeeping. As we say goodbye to Carlyn, Kylee will be assuming the responsibility of working with me, as well as the Board of Directors.

I am also pleased to announce that Membership and Development Associate, Janica Alston has been promoted to the position of Program Assistant. Her responsibilities will include supporting the Urban Arts Leadership Program, the Baker Artist Portfolios, and other programs. Congratulations to Janica for this achievement and her upcoming graduation from the Urban Arts Leadership Program.

With gratitude for the wonderful GBCA staff,
Jeannie Howe
