CALL FOR ARTIST: BUILDING A PEACEABLE COMMUNITY-ART INVITATIONAL

Artists interested in Peace and Social Justice Issues are invited to submit their art to the Building a Peaceable Community International Open Art Invitational which is part of a three-part, three-week gallery event which will be hosted at the New Orleans Art Center (NOAC). NOAC is a satellite gallery of Prospect 4, a city wide triennial exhibition. Artists from around the world are invited to submit their art (paintings, performance, multimedia etc.) on the theme of Building a Peaceable Community. Art show sponsor B4 Peace Director Zoe Kopp said they planned this event because; “We need to create art, performance, and writing that celebrates peace!

Works will be selected through a juried process and there will be prizes for both the adult and youth shows. The jurors for this event are New Orleans based artists Gustavo Duque, Ti-Rock Moore and Tina Juran as well as B4 Peace directors Namaya and Dr. Zoe Kopp. Ti-rock Moore’s show A Burning House has recently opened in New Orleans. Gustavo Duque’s hopes the invitational inspires artists to submit works like his Artist Rage series that “expresses a reality and a wish to create hope for us so we can live without violence and in peace.” Tina Juran, Art Director, at NOAC the host gallery welcomes an event that will inspire both the artist and visitors to the gallery. Submission deadline for the International show is September 21, 2017. Full information about the exhibit and the links to submit art are at: www.gracecares.org/building.
