The AngelWing Project seeks Volunteers and Interns

EXCITING VOLUNTEER AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The AngelWing Project (AWP), Maryland’s only documentary theatre, is looking for a few amazing college interns & adult volunteers who seek a very hands-on experience, not making coffee runs or making copies, but rather, performing genuine assignments essential to the day-to-day operations of the theatre.

The AngelWing Project is the newest gem in the state’s vibrant arts scene. It is a grass roots theatre company making their mark on the community with original productions, and published plays. Utilizing a documentary theatre style enables AWP to tell the stories of real people and events not found in history books that nevertheless have contributed to the vivid tapestry that is America’s authentic and beautiful black narrative. Audiences walk away from AWP productions excited, in awe, and open to starting dialogues and creating solutions that will have positive impact for all.

Qualifications for All Volunteers:

A passion for the theatre and understanding that the actors on stage are just one part of what makes a theatre company hum … all of the behind-the-stage personnel and day-to-day operations are the heart and soul, and without them, the actors do not have a stage to call home.

Qualifications for College Internships:

~ 18 years old +

~ Currently enrolled in a two year or a four-year college program

~ Must be able to devote up to 8 hours/week

~ Must possess: commitment; integrity; eagerness to learn, initiative, & desire to be part of something meaningful

Specific Areas Include:

  • Development (fundraising strategies for donors, both individual & corporate)
  • Publicity & Marketing
  • Community Outreach
  • Art Design (scenic & costume)
  • Tech (crew & lighting)
  • Stage Management
  • Director Assistant
