Call to Artists: Art Howard County 2019

The Howard County Arts Council is now accepting submissions for Art Howard County 2019. If you are a visual artist, 18 years of age or older, who lives, works or studies in Howard County, Maryland, you are eligible to apply to this biennial, juried exhibit. The juror for Art Howard County 2019 is Robin Holliday, owner and curator of HorseSpirit Arts Gallery, located at Savage Mill in Savage, Maryland.

Art Vendors: Little Italy Madonnari Art Festival

The Little Italy Madonnari Festival is looking for artists and vendors to display and sell their products, art, and merchandise in the 2019 Festival in the heart of Little Italy Baltimore. The festival is from September 6th to September 8th, 2019. Every year the Madonnari Festival has over 30,000 visitors to this event over 3 days.

Call for Submissions for the Made in Baltimore Short Film Festival

You're invited to submit your latest film to the Made in Baltimore Short Film Festival!

This festival honors and awards the best filmmakers in the Greater Baltimore region. We’ll select short films that push the envelope and inspire audiences to view film and video through a uniquely Baltimore lens. Made In Baltimore will accept fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, horror, mockumentary—you name it! Submissions will be judged on technical excellence, originality, and Baltimore flavor. Those who live, work, or study in Baltimore are encouraged to submit.

Call to Artists: Howard County Arts Council General Exhibit Program

The Howard County Arts Council, located in Ellicott City, Maryland, is seeking artwork in all media to include in upcoming exhibits. Individual artists, aged 18 & older, as well as curators and arts groups interested in presenting a group show, are encouraged to apply. Our Exhibits Committee meets quarterly to review applications and select artists for the exhibit space.

Call to Artists: Paint It! Ellicott City 2019 Juried Plein Air Paint-Out & Exhibition

The Howard County Arts Council is seeking artists to take part in the juried portion of Paint It! Ellicott City 2019. The annual plein air paint-out will be held June 27-July 1 in picturesque and historic Ellicott City, Maryland, with a minimum of $1,000 in total awards given to participating artists. The event will culminate in a gallery exhibit at the Howard County Center for the Arts from July 1 - August 9. Juror: Nancy Tankersley.

Call to Artists: ARTsites 2019

The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC), located in Ellicott City, Maryland, is seeking up to 12 artists to participate in its Eighth Annual Juried Public Art Competition for a temporary outdoor exhibit from August 2019-July 2020. HCAC’s goal is to make art more accessible to the entire community by placing sculpture at sites throughout Howard County, Maryland. The sculpture will serve as major visual anchor points that will enhance and activate community spaces and generate interest in public art.

CALL TO ARTISTS: 2019 Merriweather District Artists-in-Residence Program

The Howard County Arts Council is thrilled to renew its collaboration with the Howard Hughes Corporation for the second annual Merriweather District Artist in Residence Program (MD AIR). Up to three artists will be selected from entries submitted nation-wide and provided with a $10,000 stipend, studio space and housing to spend up to six weeks in residence, from May 13-June 24, 2019. MD AIR is open to local, national and international artists working in all media including, but not limited to, performance, video, 2-D and 3-D visual arts, dance, music, and the spoken word.
