Audition for Professional Soloists

Handel Choir of Baltimore is holding auditions for professional soloists for all voice parts. Auditions will be held July 20 and August 3 from 10 am - 3 pm at the Peabody Opera Studio, 1 East Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Please follow the instructions below to be considered for a soloist audition with Handel Choir.

Auditions for title role in King Lear

Baltimore Shakespeare Factory seeks actors for the title role in our 2020 Original Shakespeare Pronunciation production of King Lear (April 3-26, 2020).

​Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 30 from 5--8 pm and on Monday, July 1 from 6-9 pm. at St. Mary's Community Center, 3900 Roland Avenue, 21211.

Callbacks (if needed) will be held the following week.

This audition is ONLY for the role of King Lear-- all other roles will be cast at a later date.

Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra Seeks Assistant Conductor

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Conductor. This is a volunteer position. The orchestra rehearsals are every Tuesday (Sept through May), 7:00 pm - 9:30pm at the Loch Raven High School, Towson, MD. There is an audition for this position. Handel Choir of Baltimore Community Chorister Auditions

Handel Choir of Baltimore seeks community chorister for all voice parts to audition for its 2019-2020 season. Auditions will be held May 24 from 7-10 pm and May 25 from 10 am-3 pm at the Church of the Holy Comforter, 130 W. Seminary Avenue, Lutherville, MD 21093.

In addition to our yearly period instrument performance of "Messiah", our repertoire will include "Rachmaninoff Vespers" and "Song of the Birds." Concert dates and other season details at www.handelchoir.org.

Summer Job for Local Musicians-Voices of Carmen!

We are hiring talented musicians between the ages of 14 and 21 to perform in the onstage orchestra of our original musical, Voices of Carmen!

Parts still open for violin, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, saxophone, and drum set players. The score has an exciting range of classical music from Bizet's Carmen to original contemporary tracks. This opportunity is for local youth to rehearse and perform this summer. as well as to gain job readiness, technical skills, and connections for success in their careers!

Actors and Designers needed for "8 Short Plays"

Sarah Jacklin and Theresa Columbus are directing a play called "8 Short Plays" written by Columbus, playing for the first 3 weekends in July at the Mercury Theater (description at the end of this post). Fools and Madmen in partnership with Motor House presents:

Much Ado About Nothing

Written and adapted by Josh Thomas and Caitlin Carbone

Directed by Aladrian C. Wetzel

Casting 10 performers of color for a hip hop adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The show will tour and perform at Baltimore City Public Schools, plus one weekend of ticketed evening performances at Motor House this May 2019.

Roles are open to all genders and ages.
