Reginald F. Lewis Museum Seeks Director of Development

Position Summary

The Director of Development (DOD), a member of the senior management team, reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the museum’s Development, Marketing & Communications, including Board of Trustees activities, in collaboration with the Executive Director. The Development Department develops a strategic approach to fundraising, grant opportunities, donor cultivation and endowment growth in an effort to increase the financial position and sustainability of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. In partnership with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees, s/he will develop and manage relationships with stakeholders and key constituents of the museum. The Director of Development will serve as the key Board liaison and will participate in regular Board and standing committee meetings of the Board of Trustees. S/he ensures that the museum’s communication strategy reflects the mission, strategic direction and position of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum.

Reginald F. Lewis Museum Seeks Exhibition Designer

Job Description

The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture seeks a talented Exhibition Designer to design all phases of exhibition production in order to deliver an excellent museum experience for visitors. The ideal candidate will be highly creative and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in museum related exhibit design, implementation and management. Must have a demonstrated ability to manage, produce, improve and repair both interactive and non-interactive exhibits. The Exhibition Designer, who reports to the Associate Curator, will budget and manage the design process from inception to implementation as well as develop and lead internal and external design teams, if any. Works in collaboration with museum staff, especially the Director of Education, Registrar and Collections Manager, Associate Curator, and the Executive Director who functions as the Chief Curator.

Jubilee Art's Youth In Business seeks Program Manager

Seeking program manager for Jubilee Art's Youth In Business Program (YiB). This program cultivates the entrepreneurial leadership skills of high school aged youth by providing hands on experience operating an art-based business. Through the Youth in Business design collective, youth learn how to run a successful business as a team, selling high quality art products achieving cooperative financial sustainability for youth business owners. Youth are supported in leadership development within the program in addition to career and higher education planning support to provide youth long term economic independence.

Baltimore National Heritage Area Interpretation and Outreach Manager

The Interpretation and Outreach Manager (IOM) is the Baltimore National Heritage Area’s (BNHA) main liaison to its cultural and heritage partners. The IOM works with these partners and BNHA staff to plan, create, and execute programs and events that engage visitors, residents and Baltimore City Public School students in the primary interpretive themes stated in the Baltimore National Heritage Area 2012 Comprehensive Management Plan.

Reginald F. Lewis Museum Seeks Communications Manager

Reporting to the Director of External Affairs, the Communications Manager will develop, guide, and implement the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messaging and collateral to consistently articulate the Reginald F. Lewis Museum (RFLM) as the premiere experience and best resource for information and inspiration about the lives of African American Marylanders. The Communications Manager will ensure that RFLM is viewed as the primary source, disseminator, and conduit of this information throughout a diverse constituent base and network.
