Children’s Summer Camp Coordinator

Baltimore Clayworks seeks an artist/educator, proficient in ceramics, for contractual position as Children’s Summer Camp Coordinator. We are seeking a person with a passion for education who is outgoing and assertive while displaying persistence, sensitivity and patience. Individual will implement and evaluate 11-weeks of summer camp programming while fostering a positive and creative learning environment for students, teachers and interns active in the program.

Clayworks offers a congenial working atmosphere and reimbursement for work-related expenses. The position requires some computer proficiency in Windows word processing and spreadsheet applications. Some scheduling flexibility is a must.

Responsibilities Include:

· Implement and evaluate 11 weeks of summer camp programming for Mt. Washington campus.

· Develop, staff and monitor children’s summer camp and family programs in Mt. Washington. Requires full-time on-site presence 8:30AM – 5:15PM, June 18-August 31, 2018.

· Articulate pedagogy for children’s ceramic programming. Archive lesson plans and projects.

· Recruit and supervise summer camp instructors and interns.

· Articulate pedagogy for children’s ceramic programming. Archive lesson plans and projects.

· Work with core staff and volunteers to build and maintain relationships with schools, youth organizations and homeschooling networks.

· Work with core staff and volunteers to build and maintain communication and positive relationships with parents, teaching staff and students.

· Recruit returning and new participants.

· Lead tours for family and school groups in galleries as needed.

· Maintain and enter as needed all camp related registrations into database systems.
