Baltimore Center Stage seeks a part-time Group Sales Representative to grow and cultivate new group sales patrons for the 2018/19 Season. Primary duties include use knowledge of the Baltimore DMA to identify target prospects, cultivate new relationships and maintain existing relationships that complement the theater’s programming, approaching these prospects through email, direct mail, in-person, and cold-calling. The Group Sales Representative will need to meet production group ticket income goals as set by the Associate Director of Marketing. This person will ultimately provide all group sales leads’ contact information to the Group Sales Administrator for processing and does not need knowledge of ticketing software to excel in the position.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years working in sales, with experience in performing arts and/or media sales preferred; extensive knowledge of the Baltimore DMA; ability to work successfully out of office and communicate regularly with Associate Director of Marketing required; excellent verbal and written communication skills required. This position is remote, but the ideal candidate will reside in the Baltimore area and will be expected to meet with prospects in-person and attend weekly Marketing Department meetings at Baltimore Center Stage. This is an excellent opportunity for the right experienced sales representative with a self-starter mentality and an interest in the performing arts.
Compensation: Stipend of $300/week + 10% commission on sales after initial group ticket revenue is achieved. Complementary tickets to all Baltimore Center Stage productions. Contract begins immediately and runs through late May 2019.
