Howard County Arts Council Seeks Visitor and Facilities Services Assistant

The Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) manages the 32,000 square foot Howard County Center for the Arts, a multi-disciplinary arts center in Ellicott City.

HCAC seeks a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with an interest in non-profit and/or arts administration for an entry level position as Visitor and Facilities Services Assistant.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: administering and monitoring status of rental contracts for community arts organizations, priority renters, and the public at-large; administering and monitoring status of leases and rental payments for resident artists and resident arts organizations; responding to public requests and inquiries; coordinating and monitoring building usage, activity and appearance; maintaining HCAC building calendar; organizing classrooms; set-up for events and rental groups; basic reception and answering phones; coordinating a small team of part-time building attendants; and administrative support for Arts Council staff.

The Visitor and Facilities Services Assistant is full time, 40 hours per week (Sept- June: Tuesday-Saturday; July- Aug: Monday- Friday), and reports to the Deputy Director. The position requires regular heavy lifting and moving of tables, chairs, theatre equipment, and other art/meeting equipment of up to 50 lbs. Must have experience with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.

Salary for this entry level position is in the low $30s.
