Arts for Learning Maryland seeks Chief of People, Equity, and Culture

About this Position:

The Chief of People, Equity, and Culture will ensure that Arts for Learning can continue to significantly grow our impact by increasing, diversifying, and strengthening our team members and doing this in an inclusive way. This is a full-time, exempt position that serves as a key member of the C-level leadership team. This position collaborates with other executive leadership to ensure that strategy, people, culture, and systems are all aligned and coordinated so that Arts for Learning continues to attract, grow, and keep the most important asset—its people. The Chief of People, Equity, and Culture reports to the President and CEO to ensure that this position knows where Arts for Learning is headed in order to set the organization’s people strategy, and this reporting structure ensures that the employee experience remains top of mind for the organization. This position collaborates with Chiefs, the Black Caucus, and the White Affinity Group to create strategic hiring and retention efforts to attract and retain a highly talented, diverse workforce.

About Arts for Learning

Arts for Learning Maryland (formerly Young Audiences of Maryland) is devoted to enriching the lives and education of Maryland’s youth through educational and culturally diverse arts programs. Arts for Learning has grown steadily over the past decade, resulting in an $11M budget and 40 office staff, approximately 400 seasonal employees, and 100 independent contractors. Through Arts for Learning, professional teaching artists from all disciplines partner with educators, schools, and school districts to provide -- on average -- over 300,000 hours of learning in, through, and about the arts to more than 185,000 Maryland students annually.
